Aaradhya Bachchan’s first trip abroad

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan makes a two-day trip to Dubai with her baby girl

Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's daughter, Aaradhya, left for her first trip abroad yesterday. Previously, she had taken her first flight - to Goa in February - with her parents for a three-day holiday.

Last morning, Ash left for the Dubai World Cup along with her baby girl. Says a source, "Ash has gone there for a brand event, which will take place at the Dubai World Cup, one of the fanciest horse race events in the world. Unfortunately, Abhishek wasn't able to accompany them due to work commitments in Mumbai. So Ash and the baby took the flight along with her mother Vrinda, the baby's nanny and her PR manager."

They will be staying at a luxury hotel in Dubai. Adds an insider, "The brand people have booked a private suite for Ash and her entourage. When she is at the event, the baby will be looked after by her grandmother and nanny. It was a commitment made by Ash a while ago, so she didn't want to back out."

According to the source, though the logistics of the trip were a nightmare with a baby on board, Ash couldn't bear to leave her behind. "Also, she is still nursing Aaradhya, who is nearly five months old. The trip was planned well in advance to get the baby's passport in order. Since this is the first time Aaradhya is travelling abroad, all necessary precautions have also been taken. They will return on Sunday."

Look how Salman and Aishwarya avoided each other!

It was a grand Bollywood gathering at the Mukesh Ambani bash to celebrate Sachin Tendulkar’s 100 centuries, earlier this week. Ex’s bumped into each other, many exchanged glances and a lot more happened at the bash. Well, lets just come to the point.
Salman Khan entered the party with the very gorgeous Karishma Kapoor, while Abhishek Bachchan made an entry with his oh-so-beautiful wife, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Well, we all know the history about Salman-Ash and Abhi-Karishma.
However, the seating arrangements at the venue was made very cleverly. Yet, glances did get exchanged.
Salman Khan seemed to be in a pretty jolly good mood too. He was called on stage to say a few words about Sachin Tandulkar. He was at his witty best.
Sources say, Ash and Abhi did their best to keep away from Salman and Karisma.

Kate Winslet Calls Her 'Titanic' Performance 'Awful'

                                                 ALT

Next weekend audiences will return to theaters to see Titanic, and it's easy to understand why — unless you're one of the film's stars, that is. While the film may conjure up memories of developing a teenage crush on Jack and weeping as Rose promises to "never let go," all Kate Winslet sees is a young actress turning in a rather shoddy performance. "Every single scene, I’m like ‘Really, really? You did it like that? Oh my God,'" she says. “Even my American accent, I can’t listen to it. It’s awful. Hopefully it’s so much better now. It sounds terribly self indulgent but actors do tend to be very self-critical. I have a hard time watching any of my performances, but watchingTitanic I was just like, ‘Oh God, I want to do that again.’”

According to director James Cameron, Leonardo DiCaprio feels the same way. "I didn't show him the whole film but I showed him 18 minutes of it a few months ago," Cameron explains. "It was a good reunion for us but great to watch his reaction. He couldn't believe it. He said to me, 'I'm such a young punk. Look at me.' He was practically crawling under the seat. It was a good moment."

Winslet and DiCaprio aren't the only actors who find their early work cringe-inducing. Here's a look at the other actors who can't stand their most iconic roles.

Leonard Nimoy
Though Leonard Nimoy eventually embraced the role of Spock, he wrote the book on this subject — literally. Nimoy thought he'd finally be able to move past the Spock role when Star Trek was canceled in 1969, but when the show became a cult hit, he found he couldn't escape the pointy-eared Vulcan. He lamented in the 1975 book I Am Not Spock, "I went through a definite identity crisis. The question was whether to embrace Mr. Spock or to fight the onslaught of public interest. I realize now that I really had no choice in the matter. Spock and Star Trek were very much alive and there wasn’t anything that I could do to change that." Nimoy initially refused to appear in a Star Trek TV reboot and insisted on having Spock killed off in the films. Later he came to terms his sci-fi star status, appeared as Mr. Spock in multiple projects, and penned the appropriately-titled book I Am Spock.

The Cast of Star Wars
As for the other major sci-fi franchise, practically all of the actors in Star Wars wound up hating the films.Carrie Fisher recalls some Princess Leia horror stories in her autobiography Wishful Drinking, writing, "George Lucas ruined my life." Alec Guinness hated the character of Obi-Wan so much that he pushed to have him killed off, and once told a child who said he'd seen the films 100 times that he'd only give him an autograph if he promised never to watch them again.

The Men Who Wore Batman's Cowl
George Clooney was so mortified by Batman & Robin that he's jokingly offered to refund the ticket price to anyone who saw the film in the theater. Christian Bale is pleased with his work as the caped crusader (despite his unintentionally hilarious Batman voice), but is no fan of the beloved musical Newsies. "At 17, you want to be taken very seriously — you don't want to be doing a musical,'' he says. ''Time healed those wounds. But it took a while.''

Shia LaBeouf
Though it didn't stop him from appearing in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Shia LaBeouf admits that the second Transformers installment was an embarrassment. "There are a lot of people that liked the second one, but I hated it. I just didn't enjoy it," he says. "I thought we missed the mark. I got confused, I couldn't see what the f*ck was going on, you know with certain robots... I couldn't decipher what was happening. There were storyline paths that I just wouldn't have gone down."

Michelle Williams
Joey Potter fans definitely weren't wild about Michelle Williams' character Jen Lindley on Dawson's Creek, and years later she admitted she thought the wildly popular teen drama was cheesy. "I said to a friend being on Dawson's Creek was kind of like being a mobster," she said. "You set up a shop selling pizza but in the back you're laundering money. You're doing one thing in plain sight and secretly plotting something else. I was plotting my tastes, my interests, my beliefs and hopes for what I could be."

So far the stars of Harry Potter, Twilight, and The Hunger Games still seem to love the roles that launched them into megastardom, but don't be surprised if you hear Emma Watson bashing Hermione Granger after she's picked up a few Oscars.

Jolie excited about wearing horns in 'Maleficent'

Actress Angelina Jolie is excited about her upcoming film "Maleficent" as she gets to wear horns for her role and says the character of the villainous fairy will actually be good for young girls.

"I start it in June, and it's a really great script. I'm having a lot of fun. I've already got my horns fitted. My kids are very happy. We're still figuring out the look. We're experimenting with different things. But the horns are the horns. You have to have horns," femalefirst.co.uk quoted her as saying.
The actress will be seen as villainous fairy in the Disney production, which re-imagines the classic "Sleeping Beauty", and thinks the story depicts her character in a positive way.
"It's not anti-princess, but it's the first time they're looking at this epic woman," she told ew.com.
"I hope in the end you see a woman who is capable of being many things, and just because she protects herself and is aggressive, it doesn't mean she can't have other [warmer] qualities. You have to figure out the puzzle of what she is.

"It sounds really crazy to say that there will be something that's good for young girls in this, because it sounds like you're saying they should be a villain. [Maleficent] is actually a great person. But she's not perfect. She's far from perfect," added.

'Mad Men' Star January Jones Doesn't Want Betty "ToFind Peace"To

January Jones Mad Men Betty Draper

As Mad Men mania continues, any news is good news for TV fans. So when Hollywood.com hopped on a call with one of the series stars,January Jones (Betty), it was hard not to hang on her every word.

If you've seen any coverage of the AMC series in the past few weeks, you know that showrunner and creator Matthew Weiner has put a serious kibosh on any and all spoilers. So while the former Mrs. Draper didn't dish on where we'll find Betty come Sunday, March 25's two-hour premiere, she did help to soften and explain a character that's vexed so many viewers for the past few seasons. Jones admits, "I find myself defending her in the last couple of seasons, I think before, people didn't feel that way."

But as to why people turned on Betty so quickly, Jones is at a slight loss. In Season Four, Jones says "Betty found her voice and tried to be a little more independent," adding, "I don't understand why a modern generation would side more with the implosive character of the first two seasons and not the one that's trying to evolve."

Of course, being a new mother herself, Jones is not without some understanding of audiences' frustration with Betty. "I don't always agree with her" and "she has a very volatile relationship with her children sometimes," she said. Jones notes in particular, Betty's relationship with her daughter Sally, saying it's "almost competitive" and that "they're almost like sisters instead of mother and daughter"—an aspect that can only get worse as Sally approaches her teen years. "[Betty's] emotional maturity level is hard to understand—she doesn't deal with certain situations very well," adds Jones, concluding that despite those points of contention, she's very "protective" of her character.

Still, it's that contentious, tumultuous personality that makes Betty "so fun to play." Jones admitted, "I don't want her to find peace." And as horrible as that sounds, she's got a point. Betty may not get the adoration of Don Draper fans across the board, but she's always got us talking.

And she'll get us talking again as soon as the premiere airs: Jones mentioned that her first week on set found her eight months pregnant and that it was a great "outlet to channel emotions and mood swings." Get ready, folks, Betty's back in a big way.

Box Office Report: 'Hunger Games' Earns Glowing 'A' CinemaScore

UPDATED: Lionsgate's book-to-film adaptation is on course for a record-breaking $65 million to $70 million Friday, the best showing ever for a nonsequel.

Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson and Jennifer Lawrence

Gary Ross' The Hunger Games is drawing top scores from moviegoers of all ages, furthering the film's box office might.

Lionsgate's big screen adapation of Suzanne Collins' bestselling young adult novel -- starring Jennifer LawrenceJosh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth -- drew an A CinemaScore overall on Friday night, with those under the age of 25 giving it a glowing A+ and those over the age of 25 an A-.
Hunger Games is headed for a stellar debut, and is expected to gross as much as $70 million on Friday, putting it on course for a record-breaking debut of $135 million to $145 million (Friday's tally includes $19.7 million in Thursday midnight grosses, the best showing ever for a non-sequel).
Part of the movie's strength is that it is appealing to males as well as females, unlike the femme-heavy Twilight franchise, another blockbuster film property based on a young adult book series. Males made up 39 percent of Hunger Games' Friday night audience, while females made 69 percent. It also is playing evenly in terms of age, another boost.

Hunger Games has a strong shot at cracking the top five list of all time-best openings at the domestic box office. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 1 currently ranks at No. 5 with a $138.1 million debut
And Hunger Games is certain to post the best opening ever for a non-sequel, as well as the best March opener of all time (Alice in Wonderland is the current record-holder with $116 million).
Hunger Games, produced by Nina Jacobson, is generating big numbers for IMAX theaters, which turned in $1.3 million in Thursday midnight grosses, the best showing for a non-sequel.

'Hunger Games': 'It Would Have Been Impossible' Without Jennifer Lawrence, Says Director

With the Lionsgate adaptation headed for a $140-$150 million showing on opening weekend, hear what Gary Ross and the "Games" cast had to say to THR before the film's big debut.

           Josh hutcherson

On Friday alone, the Gary Ross-directed Lionsgate adaptation of Suzanne Collins' novel raked in $68.3 million at the domestic box office -- the best opening day for a non-sequel ever -- and is headed for a $140-$150 million opening weekend. This comes nearly two months after Ross and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth graced the cover of The Hollywood Reporter magazine, where they discussed how they got the job, the rigors of filming and the Hunger Games phenomenon.
EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS: Behind the Scenes of THR's "Hunger Games' Cover Shoot
In the behind the scenes video from the THR cover shoot at Beverly Hills' Four Seasons Hotel, Ross waxed poetic about a film that would have one of the biggest box office openings -- and a diehard fanbase.
"It's a wonderful feeling when you're part of a collective experience," Ross told THR earlier at the time. "Normally, you're making a movie and there's a certain amount of obscurity and you hope that people find it, but the fact literally you get to share this with everybody who is already connected to the story and you're part of something bigger."
He added: "It's a blast."
PHOTOS: New 'Hunger Games' Images Released
Loyal fans of the Games trilogy made noise when casting announcements came through for heroine Katniss, fellow tribute Peeta, best friend/hunting partner Gale and other pivotal roles. Lionsgate also took a pointed approach in announcing its tribute castings, by unveiling them via Facebook, in an effort to add social media to its marketing arsenal.
Ross also praised Lawrence's performance in the film, highlighting her immense talent.
"I think once a decade, you find somebody that's talented," Ross said. "I'm just a lucky recipient. You don't find this much talent in someone that often. Climbing trees, fighting, running through the forest, dropping out of trees and all of that."
"Her depth as an actress, how subtle she is, how passionate she is, her power as an actress, that doesn't come along very often and so if she wasn't there, I don't know what I would have done," he continued. "It would have been impossible."
Lawrence told THR earlier this year that training to get into shape to play Katniss was taxing.
"I trained about four hours a day," she said. "Trying to find what Katniss' body should look like put a lot of pressure on my shoulders. And it was stressful because I didn't want to disappoint anybody -- there was a lot of pressure to get your body to a place where an entire franchise is based [on it]."

'Hunger Games' Mania

'Hunger Games' Mania: Tweens and Teenagers Are Driving the Box Office Hit

                                                                       Stanley Tucci and Jennifer Lawrence
                                                                         "The Hunger Games"

Adults also are turning out in strong numbers for Lionsgate's book-to-film adaptation of Suzanne Collins' dystopian young adult novel.

While Lionsgate's The Hunger Games is playing to all age groups and demos, teens and tweens are fueling the box office monster.

According to CinemaScore exit data collected Friday, those under the age of 18 made up the largest portion of the audience, or 39 percent. They also gave the film a glowing A+ CinemaSocre, virtually assuring repeat business.

That's not to say Hunger Games is a one-quadrant movie. Moveigoers of all ages are flocking to see the big-screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins' dystopian young adult novel, which headlines Jennifer LawrenceJosh Hutcherson andLiam Hemsworth.
Of those turning out to see the film on opening day, 21 percent were between the ages of 35 and 49 (a fair share were likely parents), while 18 percent were over the age of 50. Among younger generations, 14 percent were between the ages of 18 and 24, while 13 percent were between the ages of 24 and 35, according to CinemaScore.

Hunger Games is doing record business at the domestic box office, grossing an eye-popping $68.3 million on Friday, the best opening day ever for a nonsequel and the fifth biggest opening day overall. Translated: Hunger Games is showing the same strength as the Harry Potter and Twilight franchises, likewise based on young adult book series.
And, unlike TwilightHunger Games is luring males, and particularly young boys. Of those turning out on Friday, 39 percent were males, while 61 percent were females.
Hunger Games drew an overall A CinemaScore after those over the age of 25 gave it an A-.

Angelina Jolie on her Leggy Oscar Appearance

                                                   Angelina Jolie

                      ALT
Angelina Jolie, or rather her right leg, got a lot of attention at this year's Academy Awards thanks to the thigh-high split in her black Versace dress. But unlike at past award shows—like the 2000 Oscars when she was seen making out with her brother on the red carpet—she doesn't know what the fuss is all about.

It turns out the protruding gam received so much attention that Jolie was finally forced to address her undressed body part. "I heard something, but I didn't pay any attention," she said. "It's as simple as being a woman, picking a dress you like and having a night, and not really thinking about anything else."

Mission accomplished. Thanks to that dress no one can think about anything else.

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth: Engaged?!?

March 24, 2012

Is there something you would like to tell us, Miley Cyrus?
Yesterday, the young singer/actress Tweeted a photo of her hand in support of a nail foundation - but talk surrounding the image had a lot more to do with diamonds than polish. How come? See for yourself:
Miley Twit Pic
Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have been going strong for awhile, of course, with an insider recently telling OK! Weekly:
"They're still keeping it a big secret, but they're seriously talking marriage. Liam is crazy about her! Miley wants the whole nine yards as far as a big wedding goes."
And she'd be smart to lock Liam down ASAP. With The Hunger Games blowing up at the box office, he'll only become a bigger and bigger draw to other women out there.
No word yet from anyone in either Miley or Liam's camp confirming or denying this rumor.

Kris Jenner

Kris Jenner: So Proud of Kim!

March 24, 2012

Kris Jenner is acting like both a mother and a manager in light of her daughter getting flour bombed during a fragrance launch in Los Angeles.
The Kardashian matriarch took to her blog yesterday and commented on just how well Kim handled the unusual incident, writing:
"I am so proud of my daughter for handling this situation so professionally and with such poise!.Kim wasn't phased by the attack and simply walked away from the red carpet, brushed herself off and headed right back out!!"

Kim actually is now considering pressing charges against the culprit, who was detained and released and NOT hired by PETA, that awful organization insists.
Jenner then concluded: "Thanks to everyone at Lighthouse Beauty and The London Hotel for such a fantastic event, and for handling the situation so well."
Ah, yes, there it is: the plug. Kris likely made thousands with that sentence alone. Are we sure the Kardashians didn't orchestrate this attack?
